In a recent Town Hall event, President Obama once again declared, loud and clear, his belief that LGBT Equality is “…founded in The Constitution.” The President then went on to SPECIFICALLY ACKNOWLEDGE that Social Security short-changes America’s same-sex couples:

“…the notion that someone who’s working really hard for 30 years, can’t take their death benefits and transfer them to the person they love the most in the world, and who supported them all their lives, that just doesn’t seem fair, it doesn’t seem right…”

The President’s position is correct, but his priorities are not.

It is clear that change will come only when WE DEMAND IT.
